Girls day out - to Boundary Mill on August 24th. This includes lunch at the Fish & Chip restaurant. Please contact Gill Barnett for details.

Summer Buffet - at St John's on August 27th from 12.30pm. Hot food, salads, desserts... All at a really good value of only £7 a head. Please let June Banks know in advance if you are coming.

Bank Holiday Praise - the next in the series is on August 27th at 7pm, this time down south in St John's Church Hall. Tea, coffee & cake. All welcome.

Next Walk - Saturday September 2nd is a repeat of the July walk as a few regulars missed it. A local affair which takes in Burrs, the old Bury & Bolton canal and Elton Reservoir. Meet at our hall at 9.30am.

Beetle Drive - will be held on Saturday 9th September in Christ Church Hall. Adults £3, under 12's £1. All proceeds will be for Cancer Research. Brews and soft drinks will be available but bring your own tipple if you want something stronger.

Open Group - please come to the next meeting of the Open Group which will be on September 13th where Sister Joan will be talking about the life changing work of Caritas.


Open Group - on August 9th David Andrew led us through the Gospel of St John.

Book Fair & Coffee Morning - many thanks to all who came on Saturday July 29th. Over £300 was raised on the day and in excess of 300 books sold...

Cream Tea - and thanks to all who came to 11th/24th Bury, St John with St Mark Scout group's cream tea on Saturday July 22d.

Open Group - a very well attended meeting on July 12th listened to Canon Ian Stamp sharing some anecdotes from his time in the ministry, both past and present. It was good to see Ian and Ann again and we wish them the best in their very active 'retirement'.


1st World War - the page remembering those who gave their lives during the 1st World War is continually being updated as more research is done. Please visit when you can and let us know if you have additional information.

Christian Meditation - is now meeting every Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Lady Chapel. Contact David McKenna at wccm.bolton@gmail.com for further details.

The old paper £5 notes were withdrawn from circulation on May 5th. If you find any in the back of a draw or in an old pair of jeans then let us have them and we'll put them to good use. The old style £1 coins will be withdrawn on October 15th, so check in your money boxes & jam jars then put any you find in the collection!

Recycle your ink cartridges! We can get £1 for each wanted ink cartridge donated! Either leave in the box at the back of church or donate directly by following this link and following the instructions. Thank you!
